About ENGINE XI

In which area does ENGINE XI operate?

ENGINE XI operates in the Mechelen area, supporting individual football players and clubs. Contact us to discuss the options and testing location.

Where do personal training sessions take place?

Personal training sessions take place at the sports practice of Personal. Mechelen.

Who is ENGINE XI for?

For ambitious football players, parents, clubs and performance staff who want to turn objective physical testing into focused action.

What is tested?

Depending on the pathway: sprint and acceleration, jump, strength, mobility, agility, movement quality and physical capacity.

What do I receive after a test?

A clear individual profile with results, interpretation, strengths, development points and practical training priorities.

Is a test the same as a medical screening?

No. ENGINE XI provides performance testing, not medical diagnosis. For pain, injury or medical questions we refer to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Parents & young players

Can a young player be tested?

Yes, provided the test format and interpretation suit the player’s age, growth phase and sporting context. Development, movement quality and enjoyment come first.

Are children compared with adults?

No. Young players are not assessed against adult standards. Age, maturity and test context remain essential.

Is parental permission required?

For underage players, we request advance permission from a parent or legal guardian for testing and for processing related personal data.

Can photos or videos be used?

Only with separate, clear consent. Declining this has no effect on testing or the report.

My child is early or late in their growth. Is that considered?

Yes. Growth can affect strength, coordination, speed, load tolerance and recovery. Results are considered in the context of age, development and testing moment.

From what age is football performance testing useful?

That depends on the goal and maturity. For young players, movement quality, coordination and safe development come first, not adult standards.

Does my child need strength-training experience?

No. Tests and exercises are matched to age, experience and physical development.

How long does a football physical test take?

It depends on the test package and number of players. Timing, preparation and requirements are communicated in advance.

Does my child need to prepare for testing?

Arrive rested, hydrated and in suitable sportswear and football boots. Avoid a demanding session immediately before the test.

Do parents receive an explanation of results?

Yes. We translate results into clear insight and possible attention points for player, parent and coach.

Can testing help when my child has recurring pain?

Testing is not a medical diagnosis. Persistent pain or injury requires advice from a doctor or physiotherapist. Testing can make physical attention points visible.

Will my child be judged or selected based on the test?

No. The aim is development, not labelling or selecting a child. One test never tells the complete story.

How does a football performance testing day work for my child?

A football performance testing day starts with a short explanation and a safe, standardised warm-up. We then assess areas such as jumping, acceleration, movement, braking and physical capacity, always adapted to age, growth stage and experience. The focus is development and safe training priorities, not selection. After the physical assessment, results are translated into clear insight for player, parent and coach.

Clubs

Why should a football club organise physical testing?

Players of the same age and team can differ greatly in development, speed, strength and load tolerance. Objective testing helps understand these differences.

Can testing take place at our club?

Yes. A testing day can take place at the club, training venue or another suitable testing environment.

Which age groups are suitable?

Youth and adult teams can be tested. Test selection and interpretation are adapted to age, level, growth phase and football context.

Which tests are relevant for footballers?

Possible components include sprint and acceleration tests, jump testing, strength, mobility, change of direction, landing quality and repeated effort.

Does every player receive an individual report?

That is possible. A club can choose individual profiles, a team overview or both.

How do coaches use the results?

As a starting point for individual training priorities, follow-up, player communication and alignment with performance and medical staff.

Can testing be used for return to play?

Testing can provide objective information in a return-to-play pathway but does not replace medical assessment.

How often should players be retested?

That depends on age, season, goals and approach. A baseline with focused retests is often more useful than measuring without a clear question.

Can a club compare player profiles?

Yes, but only within relevant context: age, position, growth phase, training history and test conditions.

What does a club need for a testing day?

A suitable space or pitch, clear planning, available players and one contact person. ENGINE XI agrees equipment, space and timing in advance.

How does a football testing day work for a full team?

For a squad, we use a clear schedule and small rotation groups across test stations such as sprinting, jumping, strength, movement and braking or change of direction. ENGINE XI aligns football performance testing with age, level, squad size, available space and the team schedule. Afterwards, results are processed into individual player profiles and, when required, a team overview with focused training priorities for coaches and performance staff.

Testing

My child plays football: is physical testing useful?

Football physical testing can map speed, jump ability, mobility and movement quality objectively. For young footballers, the focus is development, growth, load tolerance and safe training priorities — not selection or adult standards.

Where can I book a football sprint test and jump test?

ENGINE XI provides football performance testing for individual players and on-site at clubs. Sprint testing, jump testing and other physical tests are brought together in one clear player profile.

Can football testing help with injury prevention?

Testing does not replace medical assessment and cannot predict injuries. It can make relevant areas around strength, landing, mobility, braking and load tolerance visible so training can be followed up more purposefully.

How can a football club organise on-site physical testing?

A club can plan a testing day for a squad or youth age group. ENGINE XI aligns the test battery, timing and reporting with the club and provides usable insight for coaches and performance staff.

What does a club receive after a football testing day?

A club receives individual player profiles and a clear overview of measured physical qualities. Results support focused training decisions, follow-up and communication with player, parent and staff.

Is ENGINE XI a youth football performance testing partner?

ENGINE XI combines football physical testing, clear data analysis and practical development priorities for each player or group.

Privacy & test data

ENGINE XI processes only data needed to correctly perform an enquiry, assessment and individual report. We do not sell personal data or use testing data for advertising without separate consent.

What data do we keep?

Contact details, age/relevant sporting context, test results, reporting and communication needed to deliver the pathway. Medical data is not requested or processed unless this is explicitly necessary, appropriate and lawfully arranged in advance.

Why do we process it?

To handle an enquiry, organise testing, interpret results, deliver a report and track progress within the same pathway.

How long do we keep it?

Contact enquiries: up to 12 months without a follow-up pathway. Test data and reports: up to 24 months after the last assessment, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing pathway, a legal obligation or a separate agreement.
